Rurality

While out driving yesterday we came upon a lot of fences out in the country - some very useful - some very fancy - and some just simple and plain.

Decorative - with Tulip Tree

Rustic - with Tulips

More decorative -this fence went on, in sections, for about 1/2 mile

A heron sculpture just inside the Rustic fence

There was a horse nearby, but not in the lovely fenced corral

A fence with a purpose

Just a gate, no fence to keep anything in or out - and a clever sign

One of our favorite pastures, as the sun was setting.

What lovely fences. I just love them. the anchor one was great too, even if it was not really a fence.
Have a wonderful week,

I'd like to have that heron for my yard.

What I love always when I visit the US is those white picket fences. That is something we don't have over here. Most of our 'fences' are stone walls as it is a feature of this area.

I do love the white picket fences, really summer comforting! I love old brick walled gardens hiding their secrets. Chel x

Beautiful photos! I love that first shot with the magnolia tree. I'm a bit worried about my tree blooming this spring. Thanks for sharing that one.

Oh my goodness I would hate to be the one to paint that 1/2 mile of white fence! Great photos and loved the heron.

I love them all, Jo Ann. The first fence looks a bit like ours in St. Augustine!

I love fences JoAnn. There's a wooden plank fence at a communal garden close by where the people have taken the planks, plank by plank, and carved, drew, glued and generally designed a one of a kind fence. People get up to such wonderful mischief, don't they? :)

Fences make wonderful frames for gardens beyond - the Magnolia tree and the tulips are beautiful JoAnn!

What a wonderful variety of fences this week. It is such fun looking at all the different styles. The gate without a fence is commonplace in our rural county. The blue heron sculpture is a classic. He would be happy here beside my tacky pick plastic flamingo. Lastly the tulips and the tulip tree....mana for the eyes. genie

You always do such a great posts for our favorite memes, JoAnn. Always so many variations on the theme and I like that you take the time to describe each photo. Your last photo of the country field at sunset is a personal favorite.
