Shadows

A bright sunny day gave me a chance to get some fabulous shadows of crows.  My main aim was to get a shot that showed the detail of the feathers.  Crows often come out as just silhouettes and I wanted the beautiful feather detail - and I ended up getting some fabulous shadows along with feathers.

Crows have long been a favorite with me - if you noticed the picture under my banner - of my book about growing up in Alaska - you can click that photo to order the book - there are some great stories about my crow encounters as a child in the book.  Now back to our regularly scheduled crow shadows.

Great feather detail.  .  .

This one had a lot to say.  .  .

Shadow on a wall .  .  .

One walking -  and a shadow of one flying.  .  .

You can hardly tell what is shadow and what is crow landing.  ,  .

Seagull shadows chasing crow shadows.  .  .

This looks almost like a shadow - but is really two crows, one in feather detail and one in silhouette.

There is a seagull shadow coming - watch out!!!

Bye - see you later .  .  .

I adore crows JoAnn -= they are my favourite bird/ They are so intelligent and so inquisitive. Your shots also make me realise just how beautiful their plumage is too.

What a cool gallery of crow photos! They are pretty exquisite, aren't they?
I didn't realize roosters were until I got some!
I am heading to Alaska in July! Didn't realize you grew up there :)
I'm not a reader but will keep this in mind.

They're not afraid of much and yes, they can be quite talkative.
Nice shots.

Amazing detail! Great job of keeping your shadow out of the photo as well. I like it A LOT.

Jo, I enjoyed seeing these great shots. You sure have fun with your camera, and it's always nice to see what you are doing.

We had a tragedy occur with our oldest godson. I just posted about it. I just thank the Lord that I am a believer because this was very hard to take for all of us.

Sending love your way,

Sheila
