Water - On a Ferry Ride

The Washington State Ferry System is the largest in the country - in area covered and in number of ferries.  There are many islands along the coast that are inhabited and the ferries take passengers back and forth all day - and into the night.  We sometimes take a ferry out to the San Juan Islands.  You board the ferry at Anacortes, WA and so long as you don't return to the Anacortes dock you can ride the ferries all day between the island stops - getting off if you like, to visit the towns - or stay on and just ride until the ferry eventually takes you back to Ancortes.  All this for 11.00 a person - if you don't take your car along - then it is a little more - but not bad for an afternoon of sightseeing among the islands.

The currents are strong between the many islands and on a sunny day, the colors are amazing.

The currents viewed from one of the islands.  .  .

It reminds me a little of here...but then the last pic I can tell is not by the plant that is growing in the foreground.
