A Hawk

On one of our drives I spotted this hawk on a telephone pole (will they continue to call them telephone poles when we no longer need telephone wires?)  It was a very windy day and he was buffeted about by the wind - but that didn't stop him from searching for his dinner.

And then he flew off

Living out of doors, as he does, in all weathers JoAnn, I suppose he is quite oblivious to the weather. Lovely shots.

Lovely photos - I love seeing hawks. Living near moorland we get kestrels, sparrowhawks and buzzards around here and I love seeing them. I watched a buzzard make a kill a couple of weeks ago and I've had sparrowhawks do it in my garden. Never got any good photos though!

Nice closeup, JoAnn! I love his striped downy feathers and those fierce brown eyes. We had a nesting pair here this spring, but they have moved on now. I love their piercing cries. xo
