Wild Bird Wednesday - Hawk

As we drove along I saw a hawk on a telephone wire - and a small bird beside it.  The little bird took off and began harassing the hawk - it was amazing to watch.

I've seen small birds do this with Eagle's too. Amazing! You got great photo's of the chase!

Birds can be brave and almost foolhardy when it comes to protecting their young - I suspec t there is a nest somewhere nearby.

This is a common occurrence and most hawks are used to the harassment of smaller birds ... but I have seen a Red Tail turn and snatch a bird. Question, was he just fed up or was he hungry? Hard to say ... nature can be a mystery.

Looks like you are more adept than I at catching birds in flight.
