Saturday's Critters

We went out for my birthday dinner tonight - a nice restaurant on the beach in Birch Bay.  I had fish - delicious - and Don had a steak.
The sun was shining and the view of the bay was amazing.  After dinner we had a treat of ice cream cones and meandered through Birch Bay State Park - and this is what we saw
Two Bald Eagles high up in  a tree
overlooking the bay
I think they were watching the ducks on the bay - planning dinner
They probably have a nest nearby
but we couldn't see one.
Then we drove past the tree for a view
of them from the other side

You can see the colors of the sunset
reflecting on their white feathers
Beautiful sunset tonight - behind that cloud bank is Vancouver Island in British Columbia
It was unusually quiet and peaceful there - the only sounds were the waves lapping gently on the beach and the evening birds singing their goodnight songs.
Perfect end to a perfect day.

What a lovely post JoAnn. Pleased you had a good special day. I adore bald eagles, they are not all that uncommon are they? We have seen them on almost every trip we have been on to the US - and they never cease to excite me - they are magnificent aren't they?

You had a nice birthday, by the sounds! I so enjoy seeing the bald eagles you get to enjoy so often. I see one every once in a while, but it is usually on the fly.
Gorgeous sunset.

Beautiful! Love the way they majestically perch - the masters of all they observe! Such a handsome couple - probably glad to get away from the youngsters for awhile!
