Spring Babies

It was a surprise - we weren't expecting it when we saw this little Canada Goose family.
Mom and Pop and two babies

Have you seen any baby birds this spring?

Yes, there was a mother goose and about four goslings up on a small roof on the building where I took art lessons this May. Such cute babies!

Not a single one so far although I have seen plenty of mums and dads (mostly blackbirds) with beaks full of worms.

Yesterday I saw seven adult geese swim past the cabin, we haven't seen any babies yet. We also have a red-throated loon pair that comes to visit frequently. - Margy

for the last two years I have seen bird nests ravaged by crows and found bird parts when sweeping the leaves along the street. It is cute to see those little goslings. The pond in the park has been drained for years ... maybe the city was worried they might be sued if a kid fell in. I miss all the nature we used to have back when houses had gardens. Now those lots all contain two or three tall narrow houses and no room for anything but a few weeds.

How sweet is that little family of Canadian geese. The wee babies are adorable.
