First Shore Birds

Two Killdeer in a puddle in the parking lot.  We saw one on a log on the beach but it skittered off too quickly for a photo.
It's been a rough summer, after a 5 day stay in the hospital recently, things are looking up.  After recuperating some, we took a drive to Birch Bay State Park on a sunny afternoon, and found the first shore birds we've seen this Autumn.

We're looking forward to a lot more shorebirds this Autumn and winter.  They are such fun to watch as they race around the beach (and the parking lot). How is your Autumn?

Sorry to hear you've had a rough summer. I hope Fall will be better. I am wondering how our strange weather is going to affect the migrating birds. I love those pictures.

Dear JoAnn: Glad you are home from the hospital. All your photos are so gorgeous, I have told you that before, but your header takes the cake. That looks like those birds are flying right into my space and you know how that would scare me!! That is a beautiful and well thought out photograph. Happy Fall my sweet friend..xxoJudy

I hope your recovery continues at pace; hopefully time outdoors is restorative for you! Killdeer always look worried to me - I think it is something about the angle of the white line above the eye … I am having a superb Autumn - lots of outdoors time and terrific experiences with my hubby and others. Soon enough, snow will be flying!
