Summer!!

There is something so special about foxglove - so tall and stately - yet playful when the fairies sleep inside the blossoms - or wear the flowers for their skirts - or use them for gloves when attending the fairy dances in the woods.  You can see the fairy footprints inside the flowers.

I love Bruce Cockburn's instrumental song "Foxglove" but these flowers are not native to the prairies so I've never seen them in real life. So beautiful!

I like foxgloves and grew them for a couple of years before they disappeared completely. I tried shaking the seeds around as recommended but my soil might not be conducive to their longevity.
You've captured the pretty patterns inside of a few different ones JoAnn, like little runways for the bees to follow perhaps?
Thanks for linking to Mosaic Monday.

Awww! "fairy foot prints" - I've never heard them called that before, but you can clearly see where they went tiptoeing inside each blossom, curiously exploring!

Foxgloves are so pretty. I used to have some, but no longer do. I don't have room for all the pretty flowers I like, so I'm glad to enjoy them through your photos.

Foxgloves, so, so beautiful! I had some once upon a time as with many of my plantings, they just seem to fade and never return. I live where there is much wildlife and there is no telling what happened with most. If you have time, please stop by my 6 year blog anniversary, I would like that very much ;)~
