Sunlit Sunday

On a ride to the north the sun came out briefly - and I got some unusual photos of The Sisters

There isn't nearly as much snow as most years - we need more for our drinking water.  The snow melts in the spring fills the rivers and lakes that supply our water
The fields are getting green  -  some have stayed green all winter - the sunlight really makes the green show up well
And the clouds were lit up by the sunshine

Only the lower peaks of Mt. Baker were out - the dome was covered in clouds.  One of the most interesting photos of Mt. Baker I've ever taken

Canada Geese at the base of Mt. Baker

You ask about what we call biscuits which you eat with sausage gravy. I don't think we have such a thing JoAnn and I must say they sound delicious. Could I possibly have a recipe please, so that I can try them for myself?

Hi Joanne,

Visiting via Karen's today. I can only imagine the breathtaking beauty that is Alaska! Your photos have captured so much of what my imagination has speculated. Like those visiting Canada geese, this fellow Canuck would appreciate its spectacular surroundings, too.

Wishing you a very bright and lovely Sunlit Sunday!

Fascinating pictures with such eerie lighting! Your favorite of Mt. Baker is also mine. That blue-grey you captured is so pretty. And I like the texture on the second photo. Makes me feel like I am right on top of that mountain! Amazing what cameras can do when you know how to use them well!

It's very interesting how the mountains and sky seem to be in shades of lavender in some shots, JoAnn. The clouds look amazing, sweeping across the sky.I have no green to report on here, as it's a snow-covered day.

We had a lot of snow geese in the farm fields in Chilliwack. It was new to me as we just moved here. At least I am pretty sure they were geese and not swans but they were quite far out in the wet fields. They were with the Canada Geese so I figured they are geese as well.
Lovely photos, as usual. Don't we live in a most amazing area!!!
