Signs of Spring

These were taken in mid March - when spring first started showing.
 Lovely Camelias

The Wild Plum trees fill the fields and roadsides with white, snowy blossoms

 Such spring beauty.

What are your first trees to bloom in the spring?

Lovely! Our first trees are always the peach and then pear. So they often get frosted.

First out, sasanqua and then Japanese camellia ... but those are still in the winter. Then Plum in February, followed by sweet daphne, then Magnolia, then cherry trees. This week the dogwoods are opening in the park beside the honeysuckle hedges. It is fun to watch the parade of flowers.

We have a lot of ornamental plum trees around here that bloom pink and beautiful in the spring. They're among the earliest. My backyard apple tree is just starting to bloom now.
