Tuesday's Treasure

We saw this in British Columbia on a recent trip.  Not sure what it is - but it seems to have a signal/warning light on top and a padlock - but what attracted us was the pretty decoration on a utilitarian item.  There are tulip fields in the area in the spring and they used a photo to decorate this box so their town it pretty to look at.  Certainly a treasure in their town.

Isn't it beautiful - do you think that perhaps they sell tulip bulbs?

JoAnn, this sure a fancy control box. It's nice to see it decorated, beat battleship gray. Thanks for stopping by, I hope to see you again soon.

It's a box for telephone and electric services. They are all over our town, too. Kind of a fun idea.

There is one of these in the town next to me, and it's painted almost the same. It's across from a traffic light. I always figured it had something to do with controlling the light.

Somebody did a really nice job of covering this (utility box?). I'd like to see the utility boxes in our development painted up like that. Those big green things are such an eyesore.

These junction boxes are everywhere and are decorated beautifully - making something ugly into something really attractive and interesting.

Our city has decorations similar to this on several utility vaults. This one looks like a stencil. Ours, I think, are individually done.

There's a large shed on our way to Powell River that is all decorated to match the surrounding forest. - Margy

Well, not only is it attractive, but it looks like it's an advertisement for a tulip company as well. Now that's an ad that isn't a screaming eyesore like most of them are!
