They were forecasting between 2 and 7 inches of snow for this morning - and I think we got just about in the middle of that.  It is cold, still snowing and did I mention cold.  On these cold days I am ever so grateful for central heat and a snug house.  And fresh baked cookies and a hot cup of tea.

I stepped out on the deck to get a few photos - that was enough for me - I hope the grandsons enjoy the snow - I will enjoy it from indoors.

This was very early - the neighbor's christmas lights shining through some snowy branches

More daylight - more snow

The woods across the street

Abalone shells and a wooden block on a shelf on the deck

Santa - your beard has grown

Snowman can't see where he is going - watch out for Santa - one mustn't run over Santa

No grilling today

Three summer lanterns hiding under the edge of the picnic table

The gnomes got left out in the snow again - one is trying his best to sweep the snow away - the other is taking a long winter's nap.

Looks like the birds have cleaned out the feeders

A ball, waiting for the snow to melt and little boys to come and play

Summer chairs - shiver!!!

The neighbor's bamboo

You can see a little bit of the snow behind our christmas tree - what a cozy feeling.

And for staying to the end of the post - you get a special treat - Donnie visiting Santa - you daily dose of cute cute cute!!!

Such a cute little duffer on Santa's knee. I'll be he loves the snow. I went for a long walk in it this morning, before it turns to rain later on today. I find the snow so beautiful.

Nothing looks so forlorn as summer items caught in the snow. Those poor gnomes!

What a fun post, JoAnn! So pretty and love the funny commentary! Your tree beside your pretty white lace curtains with the snow outside looks so warm and cozy. Love that adorable little elf on Santa's lap. The snow is melted here finally, but it sure is cold. Keep warm! Hugs xo Karen

Brrrr, I feel cold just looking at your pictures. We have rain, rain and more rain today, tomorrow and most of next week, I wouldn't be surprised if the British Isles disappears under the ocean before long. Have a great Christmas,

I just love the picture of your tree alongside the snowy window! It just "sings" of Christmas! And cute little Donnie on Santa's lap - well what grandma wouldn't melt at the sight of that one?

I'm sure by the time we get back to Bellingham from Southern California on Monday night that all the snow will be melted. Looks pretty in your pictures. But I still hate driving around in it. - Margy

Wow! The snow is wonderful! And that little one is so cute! This is the first year our grandson doesn't "believe" so it's a bit different. He is growing up so fast! I am treasuring every moment. And we won't get snow here, of course. The mountains we see from our house have had a dusting a couple of times already this year, but Christmas day will be in the high 60s.

ha ha ha I was thinking of you today when I came out of the grocery store and it was yet MORE RAIN. Our snow melted, the ground is muddy and horrible and then days of rain..and I thought It's like I am living in Washington State; So YOU got MY snow and I have your rain??? :)

My goodness! I've missed your two latest posts! How did that happen?? Your snow looks as beautiful as ours did. I couldn't help myself; I got up before dawn (sounds early, doesn't it, until you read the clock that says 8 a.m.!), pulled on my clothes, and was out taking pictures as soon as the sun came up. I'm glad I did. The rain overnight erased it almost completely.
The Donnie pictures are a complete treat! Thank you!
