Mosaic Monday
We parked under this pretty tree one day. I have no idea what it is. The leaves are very softly colored - and fuzzy to the touch.

August Scavenger Hunt
Time for a scavenger hunt - let's go
Walk
Taking a walk to this mailbox would make you happy every day
* * * * *
Horizontal
Horizontal stripes - potato fields, wheat, read potatoes, more wheat and corn - and at the very back - more wheat, ready to be harvested.
* * * * *
Square
Granny Square afghan I made two years ago, and bring out every autumn now - it is about time to cuddle under it with a book and a cup of hot tea
The knitted or crocheted blanket we call an "afghan" is named for the people of Afghanistan.
The noun "Afghan" first appeared in English in the late 1700s as a name for the Pashtuns of eastern and southern Afghanistan. (The name is not Pashtun in origin, however; "afghan" is the Persian name for these people.)

Diversity
Diverse kinds of jam I made this week, some is a mixture of Apricots and Raspberries, and some is a mixture of Raspberries and Apricots. The darker has more raspberries than the lighter.
* * * * *
Rough
Some rough driftwood on the beach at Birch Bay State Park. I didn't realize until I saw the picture on the computer that there was a jacket hanging on a branch of the driftwood. No one came by to claim it while we were there.
* * * * *
Bow
Stop and buy some flowers in the tiny town of "BOW" Washington - love the humor of this sign. And you put your money in a slot in the fence
* * * * *
Joy
Joy is a nasturtium flower in the morning sun, with droplets on the leaves
* * * * *
Forgotten
A long forgotten barn, the blackberries are taking over
* * * * *
Crowd
These children were trying and trying to drag this log ashore - linking up for more strength - but finally had to give up.
A "crowd" of seagulls on the shore at Birch Bay State Park. They are waiting out a storm with 50 mph winds
* * * * *
Colorless
This pretty tree has almost no color - and the leaves are fuzzy too
* * * * *
Friendly
And this on the top of a taxi - I'd ride with them!!

Whatever You Want
I couldn't resist this line of t-shirts hung out in the orchard to dry.

Wednesday Wee Ones - Peace
Our fabrics this week were chosen by Diane - she picked the reversed peace signs, black on white and white on black - and a cute print with meows all over it. My dolls were excited to get their new clothes.
A lacy blouse and long skirt for Sally Jo, overalls for Abby and a shift dress with rainbow rick rack for Poppy
The fabric and flowers reminds me of a song from 1967 - "If You're Going To San Francisco", by the Mamas and The Papas
If you're going to San Francisco
Be sure to wear some flowers in your hair
If you're going to San Francisco
You're gonna meet some gentle people there
For those who come to San Francisco
Summertime will be a love-in there
In the streets of San Francisco
Gentle people with flowers in their hair
All across the nation
Such a strange vibration
People in motion
There's a whole generation
With a new explanation
People in motion
People in motion
For those who come to San Francisco
Be sure to wear some flowers in your hair
If you come to San Francisco
Summertime will be a love-in there
If you come to San Francisco
Summertime will be a love-in there
Ponytails are fun too
Oh look - Poppy's dress is reversible - white on black on one side - and black on white on the other
And new headbands - they like to dress alike when possible
And Sally Jo has a second blouse - lace on the "meow" fabric
There are several of us who sew for our dolls and blog on Wednesdays
and a new friend
Stop by and see what fun and darling outfits they have sewn
(Is that song stuck in your head too?)
Peace!
