Flower Time

A week or so ago was a great time to plant some flowers on the deck.  We stopped and picked up a nice assortment at the nursery.
Wheelbarrow full of new plants.  Marigolds, Allysum, 3 colors of Fuchsia, Coreopsis and mini petunias.  Soon to be potted up for summer flowers.
Our new Lilac Bush bloomed this year for the first time.  I didn't expect it to bloom for another few years - what a grand surprise.  And the heavenly scent.  I grew this one and another smaller one from root cuttings.

It had rained the day before and droplets were still on the bleeding heart leaves

Another first - GianT Purple Alium - perhaps one of my favorite flowers - next year more will be planted!!!

I think we posted our mosaic posts at the same time, JoAnn! That white lilac is so pretty. I'm glad it smells beautiful, too. Like you, I'm admiring the flowers in the garden these days.

Your flowers grow so well with all that moisture. We are quite dry right now and trying to water everything! Enjoy your afternoon sweet friend. Hugs, Diane

Ooooo, I love them all...envious of your lilac. We cut mine down. It just was not healthy some how or other so just took the plunge and it is gone. But I miss that smell.

I never thought there would be many lilacs in Montana, but they are everywhere, and your pictures remind me that I need to include them in my new landscaping plan - and congratulations on growing them from cuttings! Amazing!

Oh what beautiful floral photos and mosaics! It has been ages since I have seen a white lilac bush...I'm pretty sure we had one in our yard when I was a little girl! Enjoy your week!

I miss lilacs here. I have tried to grow them but they never have survived. Probably the soil is too acid. Roses too only seem to do well if they are in a pot.

Beautiful blooms Joann, especially that white lilac.
I don't have a white one (but it's now on my list) and I heavily pruned my lilac last year...so much so that my daughter said that I'd probably killed it!
I was very nervous to see what would happen this year...but it's flowered and the perfume nearly knocks you off your feet! Enjoy your garden and thanks for sharing such fantastic photos :D
