Ducks

What a surprise to come upon some ducks in a small pond on a farm
Northern Shovelers were swimming about and feasting in the pond.
And doing water ballet for us

They were on a small pond on this well kept farm near Lynden, WA

Love everything about this post, but I almost couldn't tear my eyes away from your header photo -- that baby gosling. And daffodils..... oh my gosh I am missing the Pacific Northwest. Lovely.

There is a pair or two of Northern Shovelers that pass through the strip pits every year...at least I asuume they pass through cause usually only see them in the spring or fall.

Hello, the shovelers are one of my favorite ducks! Pretty farm. Great shots. I am still a little behind in visiting all my critters post and links. Thank so much for linking up and sharing this post! Wishing you a great day and new week ahead!

Shovellers are one of my favourite ducks - I always think that they look like battleships! Sitting low in the water with that huge beak - I really like them. We have a similar species of shoveller here, but not the Northern one.
