Rurality Blog Hop - Flying Hawk

A hawk flying over the fields in Skagit County, WA

A very good day for hawks - we saw twenty or more - some soaring, some perched on telephone wires (do we still say telephone wires?) - some in the fields feasting.  It was a very good day.

Beautiful hawk. Funny thing about hawks this year. I have seen a TON of them in Maryland this year. Not sure if the populations have changed or not, but they have been very visible lately, even in the not-so-rural areas. I wonder why?

Gorgeous photo of this beautiful hawk! Did you know that hawks migrate and that is why we see more of them in winter? I just learned this! Maybe everyone knows this, but I had no idea! xx
