Thursday afternoon I looked at the weather forecast - it said possible snow flurries. Well, I checked around - looked at other forecasts - one said rain - another said rain and snow mixed - no one could agree.
And then it snowed
The bird feeders were topped off with snow - but the birds could hop inside to get some seeds
Some summer things had not been brought in off the deck - we weren't expecting snow.
A wooden crow wears a crown of snow, the bird feeders look like Russian Cathedrals
The Hummingbird feeder before we cleaned it off, next to another snow hat wooden crow
A table full of snow - we got almost 5 inches - snow covered metal chickens below the table
The two lumps on the right side of the table are the gnomes, Tammson and Pirphal. They are nice and snug in their warm coat of snow. Don't worry about them, gnomes are magical and love the snow.
And it snowed!!! Under the wooden crow is a bright yellow mum.
Forgot to bring in Sawing Man Whirligig - no wood sawing today.
The woods across the street.
It looks strange to see the Autumn leaves still on the trees and snow. This is the earliest we have had snow here in 45 years. Let's hope this is not the norm for this winter - though they have forecast a colder winter this year, but then they forecast only flurries this week.
