Do You Have One of These?

Ohh - I'm  thinking you don't - because it is one of a kind - made made by my good friend Julee Andersen (no blog, but she should).

This was my personalized christmas gift from her this year.

A wooden plaque - it shows me so well

Sitting in my comfy chair, knitting, notice I am wearing slippers - I am indeed comfy.  She even got my hoop earrings - great detail

With cupboards full of my dishes

And a quilt - of course a quilt - she knows me so well.

Julee and I went to grade school together for 5th, 6th and 7th grades in  Sitka, Alaska - until her Coast  Guard father was transferred.

We got back in contact with each other through facebook - she recognized my name in a comment to another classmate on facebook, because she remembered that my mother had been the Girl Scout leader when she was in Girl Scouts.  We finally met for lunch one day a couple years ago and haven't stopped talking since. (No comments from Tony and Don needed)

We get together every week or so, to stitch and talk and drink tea and eat donuts - what better kind of friend could you have?

Julee paints birds, butterflies and faces - well, most anything that catches her fancy, she makes dolls and does embroidery.  She has an etsy shop so you can see her wonderful work - and pick a few favorites to buy.

My gift hangs now in my studio - reminding me of a thoughtful friend.

So sweet! I do appreciate hand made things now more than at any time in my life. I would treasure something like this as you do! So happy for both of you. With your shared early background it must feel like being sisters!

Present made especially for you are the best kind. It's great to connect with someone from the past. I have been looking for my best friend from elementary school for years, but haven't been able to locate her even with all the electronic tools we have today. - Margy

Wow! What could be better? I can't think of anything! I assume that Julee lives somewhere not far from you if you see each other regularly. And what a perfect excuse to pull out some of your wonderful teapots and cups!!
