Foxgloves

There is something so special about foxglove - so tall and stately - yet playful when the fairies sleep inside the blossoms - or wear the flowers for their skirts - or use them for gloves when attending the fairy dances in the woods.  You can see the fairy footprints inside the flowers.

Amazing pictures I love foxgloves so proud they dominate their space. The white ones are stunning, I've not seen them before.

Thank you for joining in with Smile its Friday.

In Japan they are called "Hotaru bukuro". Hotaru is a firefly and fukuro is a bag. can you imagine those as little lanterns lit by fireflies? My granddaughter brought me a dark purple one for Mothers'day.

These are so pretty! Foxglove is a plant I've always wanted to add to our garden but have yet to do so.

The foxglove bells always fascinated me when I was a kid growing up. My mom had some wonderful ones, none of them exist anymore unfortunately.

One of the nice things about foxgloves is that once you have them in your garden youhave them forever as they seed themselves so freely (providing they like you.)

Foxgloves are glorious! Mine are just about to bloom, and it is wonderful to be in a climate where they do so well.
