Monday Mosaic - Seagulls

We often go down to the bay to watch the Alaska Ferry depart from Bellingham - and this week I had a big bag of bread to feed the seagulls - so I could get some good photos. Most of these were taken with a flash and I love the way they turned out. Needless to say - our car had to go through the car wash the next day - it was red with white spots.

I love the sound of their wings as they flash through the air - I love the squawking - and I love the feathers and how they seem to glow in any light. I just love seagulls.

Those are some great photos of the seagulls....even better when enlarged.
I have to tell you that seagulls have mites that bite humans.....my Dad used to go to the pier and bring tons of bread and sit and feed them for an hour or so.
One time he came home all itchy and within a day he had a fever of 103....had to take him to the doc and the doc said it was from the seagull's mite bites....my Dad was sick for an entire week.

Isn't it amazing how quickly they'll gather for a treat? Birds of a feather, I guess... They really are fun to feed!

THey always seem to know that you are coming to feed them and they fight like hell to be the first to get fed. Great pictures.
