This year has not been as good for seeing Bald Eagles as some years - but then it has been better for seeing the Swans. Each year has its rhythm.
Building a nest - the eagle was gathering bits of twigs and moss from the tree
He could really get around in the midst of all those branches
Both Eagles in the nest. Sometimes one was in the nest and one in the tree next to the nesting tree.
such fabulous and amazing series of eagle photos! If I ever saw a scene like this, I'd think that I had died and gone to heaven.
ReplyDeleteIt is wonderful to watch the eagles on the nest.. And also cool to see the nest when the eggs are hatched. Great images and mosaics. Happy March, wishing you a great day and week ahead!
ReplyDeleteWhat amazing photos. We see eagles here but they are rare and exciting to spot. Usually it's impossible to get a good photo too. I feel better today....finally! I hope you feel good too! Sweet hugs my friend, Diane
ReplyDeleteWonderful photos, JoAnn! Thank you for sharing!
ReplyDeleteHappy March!
Amazing, indeed!!! What wonderful photos of these two beautiful/handsome eagles!!! Thank you!!!
ReplyDeleteIt is so exciting every time I see a bald eagle. - Margy
ReplyDeleteBirds of prey really do build the most amazing nests don't they! xx
ReplyDeleteThey really are the most majestic bird aren't they? I remember how excited we were the first time we saw one.
ReplyDeleteI think the eagles are starting to come back and nest now. We're seeing more of them than we had for a while.
ReplyDeleteHello again :) I so enjoyed your last post that I had to take a peek at your other posts.
ReplyDeleteMy young son is sitting next to me right now and he loved seeing your photos. We see Bald and Golden Eagles quite often here, but not this close - thank you so much for sharing :) I am happy to be following along. Hugs! Stephanie - The Enchanting Rose
Wow- awesome photos. I've only seen an eagle "close up" once. He glared down at me while I quickly snapped as many shots as I could with a long lens... he did not appear to be impressed. I was worried he might try to carry me away... Thanks for sharing these amazing photos with us.
ReplyDeleteoh your close ups of the eagle very impressive. I enjoyed. I commented prior to this your tea setting invite. I take it. Ha-ha..
ReplyDeleteBeautiful serie of the Bald Eagle!

I would love to see your pictures from a good year if you say this one is not as good. These are wonderful documentation of something most of us never see. You are lucky to be part of their rythym.

Awesome photos JoAnn. I have to wonder why the bald eagle has white feathers on its head? Did you get the footprint in the snow correct that Mary Cromer quizzed us with?
ReplyDeleteThanks for linking to Mosaic Monday.
Fascinating birds and so awesome looking. You're lucky to have them.
ReplyDeleteNot a good year for seeing Eagles here in Iowa, either. Too much ice on the River means bad fishing - so fewer Eagles. In fact, I haven't even tried to take any pictures. Too cold and too few of them. Great photos.

What a joy to get to see them build their nest!
ReplyDeleteSuperb images of these birds.
ReplyDeleteEverything about Bald Eagles is bigger than life--including the nest. Great shots, thanks for sharing.
