There are 6 eagles in this tree near Edison, WA - always a great place to find eagles
Just below the tree were hundreds of ducks in a seasonal pond
On the opposite side of the tree was a young bald eagle. They don't get full white feathers until about their third year
And in the same tree - the eagle's nest
On a certain corner on a certain road we always find this heron
And then there was this "critter". He made us laugh.
Photos are taken with a Nikon CoolPix P600 - no editing was done - just a little cropping. Photos are straight out of the camera.

We have seen many bald eagles on our travels around the US over the years. It is always a thrill to see them as we don't have them over here. Love the heron too - we do have the grey heron here and have two on our beck.
awesome eagle sightings! love the herons, too. and 'marshmallow' snowman is very cute. :)
Hi Jo!
Seems all the best photos are taken with CoolPixes! Am a big fan of the non-edited photo.

That must be quite a feeling to view so many eagles at a time! We are lucky if we see one every
5-6 years near the power plant in the adjoining county.
Love the "marshmallow" snowman!
Fantastic Eagle shots and so many. Have a wonderful weekend.
Cute snowman, but I sure would hate to have to buck that bail of hay. - Margy
I love how entertaining your blog posts always are. And, to get those wonderful shots of the Eagle. Wow. I'm impressed. Since you are a writer, I thought I'd mention that Marie (from A Colorful World) and I are starting a book club blog. Sure hope you will check out my Living Life on Main Street or Marie's blog and join in our fun. Have a great weekend.
Wonderful! I'm so happy the eagles are back! They showed up here a few weeks ago but I have not been out to photograph them. Lovely photos.

Great shots of the Eagles!
Wow ! Great captures of the Eagles
I remember this tree from last year! Great shots!
Not sure I'd be a happy duck hanging out underneath that tree.
And I envy those heron shots!
How amazing to be able to get photos of that many eagles! Love the snowman critter, too. I posted one of those today! haha! Sweet hugs, Diane
Beautiful eagle shots. I'm glad they became the national symbol instead of the turkey that Ben Franklin advocated for! So majestic - just like our "amber waves of grain."
I'm glad others pointed out that the "critter" is made from hay bales. This city girl couldn't imagine what was underneath his snowman "costume!"
Fantastic photos of the eagles! And your heron! Beautiful pictures, as always. I see where Mom invited you to our new Book Club. Please join us! Have a great day!
