Monthly Collage

July was such a wonderful month - great weather - the whole family being together the first time in three years - Don was out of the hospital and doing fabulously - family outings and more fun than we ever imagined - and we imagined quite a lot.  So I had to make three collages just to get all the fun in.

Five Greens on Friday

Some greens and some random fun on Friday
 1. A lot of corn is grown here - it is getting tall and soon will be ripe
 2. Whatcom Falls through a grate in the wall over the falls, built by the WPA during the depression.
 3. Lovely fields of green
 4. A fawn enjoying the greens in our yard
 5. Owls carves out of tree trunks in a local park.  The green trees make a good background - and .
These metal chickens seem to be showing up everywhere - there are even bigger ones than this - I must get more photos of them all around our area.

Whatcom Falls - the flow of the falls is about a fourth of usual for this time of the year because of the drought conditions, but still beautiful.  The falls are about 1/2 a mile from our house

Tuesday Afternoon

Shhh - don't tell, but it is really Wednesday morning.  I was having such a lazy Tuesday that I ran out of time.  Here are some random things we've been enjoying lately.  It's the simple pleasures in life.
Pretty markers in the crab pots, crab season is starting in Washington

A metal deer with pitchfork antlers - this one won't eat your garden

Tiny local lending libraries - these are popping up all over town and each one is decorated differently.  Neighbors share books and videos with each other.

A flicker sitting on the ground in an apple orchard
And a field of Queen Anne's Lace

Wednesday Wee Ones

Today was a trip to the salon to try some new hairdos.
We need a cape to protect our lovely clothes while we are at the salon.  I'm Poppy Sunshine - I like simple hairdos most of the time
This is the focus fabric for this week - we each got a cape from the blue/white star fabric.  We think we will look great when we are done choosing hairstyles.  I'm Sally Jo - my hair is fine and straight - great for a braid or two
I'm Abigail Clarissa - with very curly hair - you may call me Abby
We liked the capes so much we convinced our seamstress to make more capes - so we have choices.  My hair is such a mess today
Much better  - my curls get so fluffy sometimes
I really like this purple cape
The cow print cape reverses to purple -  I like my hair up - what do you think?
Pretty stones on this cape.  I like my hair pulled to one side - keeps it under control - I like this hair style.
The stones are the reverse side of my stars cape
I like braids - and this cape that is  pink and gold on one side and flowers on the other.  I think it suits my hair.
The purple cape with cow print lining
Three capes - showing their reverse sides - lots of choices
I think the braid looks smashing pulled across the top of my bangs

It has been a fun day at the salon - we all tried out different hairdos and we all think we all look great.  New hair styles are such fun!

Maybe next time you can come along and try on the capes and look at new hairdos.  Thanks for stopping in this week.

The pattern is a free downloadable one - HERE.  I shortened it about 2 inches and found that to be just the right size.

And don't forget to stop over and see what Diane   and Sheila are making with the blue/white fabric this week.  Toodles!
