Daffodil Time

I love this time of the year - daffodils everywhere - fields full of them in the Skagit Valley - in yards - in the house in bouquets - daffodils daffodils.
Zoom in
 Zoom out!

While in the Skagit Valley last weekend we had a surprise - the Olympic Mountains - way out on the Olympic Peninsula - could be seen from Skagit Valley
So of course I had to zoom in on them - with daffodil fields in front
I'm not sure why this is - but it seems we can often see the Olympic Mountains better on a cloudy day than on most sunny days.  It is a treat whenever we see them

  3. We are the same here, acres and acres of daffodils where the farmer has complained on tv that they have bloomed too early! It's beautiful to see though, especially with the windmill in the distance. Your way looks even more beautiful with the mountains behind (it's flat as a pancake round here!!). xx

  7. JoAnn - amazing scenes - I've never seen fields of daffodils stretching so far before. Are they grown for the bulbs? I can't imagine them being picked once in full bloom. I've been through the Skagit Valley several times but never at this time of year - I need to come back next Spring perhaps!

The Olympic Range is one of my most favorite mountain ranges - we've crossed by ferry from Seattle, then up to Port Angeles and another ferry to Victoria, B.C. I so love that area and will go back as often as I can.

  8. WOW! I've never seen so many daffodils in one place. The few we have in our front bed are just tiny green shoots barely peeping out of the soil right now.

  9. I've gone to the Skagit Valley too late to see the daffodils. These views are spectacular. Isn't it wonderful to have something this beautiful so close? I imagine it's even prettier than the Netherlands in spring since we have such beautiful mountains around.
