On my quilting blog, I have posted about Don's Lone Star quilt. This is the 7th Lone Star that I made, out of 10.
You can click the words above the photo - or the photo to read all about it.

Next I will post about the three grandsons' Lone Star Quilts - stay tuned.
It is a beautiful work of art, JoAnn! All the work and love you have put into it really shows. I love the bears and the cattail details. All the quilts are beautiful and the story behind them. What wonderful gifts you have given your family. Hugs xoxo
ReplyDeleteIts a beautiful quilt, JoAnn, I love it. I made my first quilt last year for my first granddaughter, now I have a new granddaughter, so guess I need to make a start on another quilt.

I love Lone Star JoAnn. I have a friend who is a marvellous quilter. (I have made a few but not in your league - or hers). I am sending her a link to your site so that she can see this - she is not a blogger.
ReplyDeleteSo very pretty, I didn't know you quilted.
ReplyDeleteOh what beautiful work you have done. I love the colours. B
ReplyDeleteJoAnn, your work is gorgeous and these star patterns are NOT easy! Your points all match and your hand quilting is intricate. I also love your color choices on each project.
ReplyDeleteMy goal is to have one heirloom quality quilt completed for each grandchild....a formidable goal since I don't even have the first of 6 pieced together yet!
My MIL was a quilter so I know the time and effort this takes.
ReplyDeleteReally beautiful!
JoAnn, your Lone Star quilt is beautiful. I enjoyed reading about the quilt making for your family. How wonderful!
ReplyDeleteI remember reading about these. I still cannot get over how lovely they are and how you made so many of them...you are amazing! :)
ReplyDeleteJoAnn - Your quilt is gorgeous! Can't believe you've made that many. Amazing work.

I've made some lone star quilts too but never that many. Keeping everything a surprise must have been a challenge!
