After the holidays I like to have dishes in the china cabinets that add cheer to the rest of winter. With our grey skies and plenty of rain here in the Pacific Northwest we need something bright and shiny.
Pretty pink and green depression glass are just the ticket!
And some blue glass in the side cabinet.
This pitcher is a favorite any time of the year - it is great for summer meals on the deck, as well as wintry meals set on a blue and white table.
A cute Shirley Temple milk pitcher for a breakfast table.
Green is a perfect color for winter in the Pacific Northwest - we are green all year round.
And pink adds a sparkle
Candy jars, vases and pitchers in green Depression Glass set atop the hutch in the dining room
The pink candy dish on the left, sitting on a serving platter, was a special gift from some friends in California. It has been one of their special wedding gifts 50 years before, and they shared it with us as a going away gift when we moved to Northern California.
Uh oh - a little bit of Easter is beginning to appear on the hutch.
Won't be long until it is full of spring and Easter
Watch for more springtime in the dining room - soon.
JoAnn, It is nice to see a peek of Easter. Thanks for sharing. Sylvia D.

I know I have mentioned it before, but I love your sideboard. How pretty it looks overspilling with all your gorgeous Depression glass. The Shirley Temple jug is sweet, as are the tulip mugs....love them. The sight of all that pretty glass would send the winter blues packing!
ReplyDeleteJo Ann, I am in awe of your amazing collection of pink and green depression glass it is huge. What fun you must have had whilst collecting every single piece and the memories, how lovely.
ReplyDeleteThe blue glass pieces are so very different from any I've seen in Europe, especially the piece with Shirley Temple's image on it, that must be a rare item?
Happy Mosaic Monday and thank's for getting us off to a great start this week.
Your collections of glass are beautiful. I especially like the pink depression glass, of which I have one cake plate. We do need colour in our homes and lives these days while waiting for winter to end. Have a great week, JoAnn.
ReplyDeleteYour depression glass collection is so pretty! I have some green glass. I remember my Mother having a blue glass piece with the sail boat that she used to hold ice for adding to tea. Sweet memories! Happy Monday!

ReplyDeleteIt's good to see the peeks of Easter coming out to play in your dining room cabinets. Your depression glass collection looks lovely in the china cabinet. I am very partial to the pink swirl glass and even more partial to the cobalt blue glass in your side cabinet. I have either sold or given away all of my pink swirl and green glass but so far I am hanging onto my blue glass collections. I am looking forward to seeing your Easter decor. I may not be doing any at my house but I can enjoy looking at yours. Win/win I would say!
ReplyDeleteThe white paint shows everything off so nice. - Margy
