Going through my photos I find that there are some I want to share - but they don't seem to fit into a special category - so I thought I share some in collages.
A pretty stone cottage on Samish Island and some wonderful Wisteria. The cottage is a summer rental with a magnificent view of the bay.
How about a couple of old cars to drive to Samish Island for a little vacation. The top car has to watch its speed though, as there is a speed limit sign posted on the nearby shed.
Oh the birds this summer - Hummingbird at the feeder, Northern Flicker on the suet feeder, Robin in the top of a very tall tree behind our house, Goldfinches gathering at a feeder and a Pileated Woodpecker up in another high tree.
And a summer of flowers. The old truck is hauling its load of flower pots, English Daisies cover the picnic ground at Birch Bay State Park, Thistles glow in the sunshine and Sweet Peas line the road near Padilla Bay.
My favorite old truck - loaded with flower pots
I captured spiderwebs on the neighbor's light post early one morning.
A flock of Goldfinches (WA State Bird) at a feeder on Sandy Point.
A most unusual hybrid duck - seen swimming with the Mallards near the Alaska Ferry Terminal in Fairhaven. It was much larger than the Mallards. There are no homes with ducks in that area, so I don't know where it came from - or where it might be going.

Beautiful, nostalgic pictures JoAnn.
I can't imagine what kind of hybrid that duck could be. Sometimes in parks where people toss food to winter visitors, a migrant might stay for a breeding season and I've seen some interesting mixes over the years ... maybe Baikal teal-mallard mix with the best features of both.
I can see that you always had your camera to hand this summer, like me you're always looking out for interesting things to capture regardless of whether they fit a certain category or not. Sometimes these images, like yours have today, make the very best mosaics.
Happy Mosaic Monday.
Hello, I love all the pretty flowers and beautiful birds. Wonderful collection of images and collages. Happy Labor Day! Happy Monday, enjoy your new week!
Great mix & match photo study - those spider webs would be perfect examples for the SPSH ... hope you have a good week ahead.
That looks a little like the Muscovy duck we have here. And I can see our little hummer eating right now while I visit you. Hope you are having a good day...and not too hot! Hugs, Diane
JoAnn, you always find the most beautiful subjects to photograph. Love that little stone cottage and the old trucks. The spider webs are spectacular..Happy Labor Day..xxoJudy
What an interesting group of collages to share. So much to see and appreciate in the world.
JoAnn - love the truck with the flowers! Have a great week!
Nice selection of interesting things!
These are wonderful collages...I LOVe that stone cottage. And I love wisteria...
Beautiful old cars...just really enjoyed all of these.
Loved the summer collection and I'm so very glad you carry your camera everywhere ..(and that you're talented in using it...for ages, I have tried without success to capture a perfect spider web. You did it beautifully.). A happy post ... thanks for sharing!
What a great collection ... a little of everything. I chuckled when I saw the cars. Love the spider webs and the stone cottage. Have a fun-filled week!
JoAnn, I have done some research on ducks this summer due to my photography but that big one is a mystery. Thanks for sharing and have a great week. Sylvia D.
We're seeing many trees turning colors these days. And maybe it's just the weather but I've been looking for birds for a few days now and haven't found a lot of them. Could they be migrating already?? Summer's gone way too fast!
