There is a small pond not far from our house - we often stop there to see what kind of critters we might find.
This day it was a Great Blue Heron
Along with some Mallards
All posing very nicely for us
Or getting a nibble or two
A pretty fountain at the other end of the pond

Hello, it is a pretty pond and fountain. I always enjoy seeing the Herons and the ducks. Great captures and sightings. Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Happy Saturday, enjoy your weekend!
Herons are such elegant birds, they can scream very loud though ;)
Neat reflections too!
Oh all the photos are wonderful ~ hard to choose a favorite ~ guess I always like the duck with its tail up in the air ~ makes me smile ~ thanks, ^_^

JoAnn, always look forward to your photographs. These are no exception. Such a beautiful and majestic bird and you did him proud. On our drives to Santa Cruz we sometimes see a blue heron but mostly the white ones in the rice fields. I call them my good luck birds (why? don't know) but can never take a pic as we are cruising down Highway 80 at full speed..Have a wonderful weekend, sweet lady..xxoJudy
Herons are a favourite of mine. - Margy
At our last living area, there was a pond much like that, even with the water spray. The birds were also similar with egrets and block crowned night herons and mallards. One area there are lots of photographers with huge lenses taking pictures of the "Common Kingfisher" that looks like a flying jewel.
Such a lovely pond and what an amazing fountain. I showed my husband and hinted our pond really needed a fountain such as this. He looked at me rather strangely.....I have no idea why he should! Gorgeous photos of your Heron, JoAnn. Have a lovely week, lovely lady.
Great photos of the heron! You live in such a great area for wildlife photos.
I love those heron shots! I finally got some shots recently of one down by the bay shore...and some mallards, too, in a local pond. But your bobbing butt can't be beat!
Pretty pond and I always get a giggle watching the ducks go bottoms up to feed. Have a great day!
