This dish set was made in in the early 1940s; the teapot sold for $2.98 and a cup and saucer was fifty cents - of for those prices these days.

Those roses are gorgeous! I doubt if you found them growing in anyone's yard this time of year. Hope the storms didn't beat you up too much. It was very mild here. No disappointment but we were expecting much worse!
What a lovely fall tablescape! Your roses are an amazing color. I have similar colored roses called "Fiesta" but yours are much bigger and nicer. So great to see a tea set (and prices) from the 1940s! I'm enjoying apple and pumpkin baked treats too.

Beautiful roses. My mother loved growing them even in the heat of her Hemet, California home. My good friend John brought me some gleaned apples from a tree in the bush (an old homestead I guess) so I canned spiced apples and applesauce for the winter. I wanted to do it, but the price of apples in the store was too much to make it a savings. With free apples, it was a huge bargain. - Margy
