This summer we took several trips to some of the nearby islands. The islands are mostly homes now and the farms are being abandoned or sold to home builders.
This is the end of an old barn, a woodshed that seems to still be in use
And nearby an old water tower.
And a small cabin - with clean curtains,so perhaps someone uses this for a summer retreat. There is a hose coiled on the left end of the house. Or maybe it is a play house - perfect for summer imaginations.
A tractor lives in the shed on the end of the barn
An old, old chicken house - slowly melting back into the land
Some of the back wall is missing and weeds and grasses are taking over
A newish tin roof - and perhaps this barn is used for storage
It definitely is not a working barn.
That water tower is really neat. I've never seen one like that.
ReplyDeleteGreat photos of unpainted barns...and that water tower is awesome!
ReplyDeleteOld barns and building, even in the worst condition, are one of our favorite finds when we are out driving.
ReplyDeleteTheir age and patina are amazing.
Old, worn and picturesque. Thanks so much for sharing this week and I hope that you return again. Tom
ReplyDeleteWater towers! Now there's something that's disappearing, too!
ReplyDeleteSome nice finds here!
