The Red Tail Hawks are returning from their summer habitat. Some are here year round, but there are many more in the fall and winter.
Atop a power pole
And just down the road - another on a power pole - holding one foot up
This big black horse was enjoying a good roll-around in the grass
And came up very dusty!!
My dogs love that same kind of roll! Great photos!
ReplyDeleteAll wonderful photos ~ that hawk is gorgeous and love the horse rolling around ~
ReplyDeleteHappy Weekend to you,
artmusedog and carol
For the hawk images...all I can say is WOW!!! Gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteAs for the horse...this is sweet...dusty maybe, but sweet photos.
A dust bath is already good whether it's a horse, dog or bird!
ReplyDeleteWe have lots of red tail hawks in our area...it isn't uncommon to drive 50 miles southwest and see a hundred of them. We also have bald eagles nearby, but I have only seen one in the almost 14 years I have lived here.
What wonderful pictures of the bird!!! The horse looks as though it was having great fun doesn't it! xx
ReplyDeleteGreat capture of the horse rolling in the dust. Always nice to see the hawks return.
ReplyDeleteNice pictures! Beautiful horse!
ReplyDeleteSuch wonderful images!
ReplyDeleteWhat fun to see both the red-tail and the dust-rolling horse! A great post!
ReplyDeleteThat third hawk picture is especially nice. We don't have as many red tails here as we do harriers, and the harriers are year round.
ReplyDeletemakes me always happy to see horses roll
ReplyDeleteI haven't noticed winter visitors yet . Most of our guests are water birds. I love that giant dust bunny.
