Garden Tools
I love to collect vintage garden tools. Looking for a place to hang them I thought of this broken rake - no handle, but I didn't need the handle. The tines make a perfect rack.
In the bright sun there are wonderful shadows from the tools.
HIYA Jo! Now THAT is a beautiful picture. I like them both, but Am especially fond of the first -the matte weathered wood and metal against the white. Did I mention that that is my favorite combination in the whole world? Yup. Happy Fourth my friend. xo, m & jb
That looks great - I love old gardening and farming tools as well though I don't collect them. The only one I have is a sickle that I bought because I remember seeing my dad using one when I was a little girl. It isn't on display - maybe I should find somewhere for it to go where it can be seen.
Very nice! Using the rake is a brilliant idea. Can you imagine the many gardens these tools worked in...the hands that held them...the things they coaxed to grow? Love your second shot especially (like those rusty fish!).
I like this idea and hope to do it some day with some of my old rusty tools. I wonder if hubby will let me hang it on his shed when he gets it built. :)
Good morning, neat idea to use the rake for hanging your tools. Great shots. Happy 4th of July, have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteVery cool, and they were constructed to last!
ReplyDeleteI love the shadows the tools make. And, them being old, you just wonder who has used them. Gentle reminders of the past.

ReplyDeleteWhat a difference in beauty and contrast when you add the shining sun to your still life! Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteWonderful shadows and I love the way well worn garden tools look.
ReplyDeleteJust looking at those luscious shadows brings me great joy!

ReplyDeleteA very nice collection. I like old kitchen implements, but don't have a place to display them any more. They are all boxed up in storage. - Margy
