I had a great Mother's Day! My family is so very thoughtful.
We started with brunch with our daughters and their families - I set the table - they did the rest of the work - a nice way to start a day.
I decided on a lighthouse/seaside theme - the plates were a good starting point
With a sailboat pitcher and sailboat glasses
Napkin rings were hand made sailboats and leather belts (I only had 4 of each)
Pelican Pete watched over the table - don't you love his shoes?
The white pitcher in the upper right was a gift from Don - it has fruit on it and it is from the 50s
Add the delicious food and we are ready to eat
And then the gifts - oh my. A dozen roses, candy and a shopping tote with family photos on it.
Yummm - and all gone!
More candy - such a sweet day
Roses!!
I'd never seen roses with pale pink on the outside of the petals and dark velvety red inside.
A sweet bouquet of carnations!
A pair of chicken salt and pepper shakers
Another beautiful bouquet - I just love flowers!!
And a hydrangea - it is a new variety called Angel's Parasol - the flowers are so sweet. They start out green and turn a lovely pink.
The day and my family were wonderful!!! I'm very lucky.

So glad you had a wonderful Mother's Day with your family.. The table setting is cute. I like Pelican Pete. Lovely flowers, enjoy your day!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a wonderful time! And I love your new header with all the wild roses (which is the floral symbol of my province, Alberta). They're also a flower that was in abundance during my prairie childhood. Fond memories!
ReplyDeleteWhat wonderful gifts and beautiful flowers! All of the food looks amazing too! I love your nautical theme. I have 1 sailboat glass that I use all the time. I'll bring it when I come for dinner! heehee! Sweet hugs, Diane
ReplyDeleteWhat a great table theme you set for Mother's Day. It's really sweet. You got some beautiful flowers and I love that new hydrangea. Looks like a wonderful day for you!

So much to enjoy! Beautiful table, great food, candy, and flowers. What's not to absolutely LOVE?! What a beautiful hydrangea, too. (I've seen those pale pink and velvety red roses. Aren't they spectacular?)
ReplyDeleteYou are so clever with your table decorations. Looks like a perfect Mother's Day. I didn't become a mother so mine was a very quiet day. - Margy
ReplyDeleteI think I smelled those flowers coming on the sea breeze.
ReplyDeleteWhat a charming setting for Mother's Day! It's usually pastels and flowers that set the table. I like the nautical theme! You did very well gift-wise for your special day!
ReplyDeleteI had a nice celebration too - and then moved into the busiest week of the year with babysitting and a shower and baptism. It's nice to be done and be able to relax catching up with your posts!
