What a wonderful array of photos. So many excellent creative pieces that you have made or designed. How special to have the photo of your grandfather ... it's a treasure indeed. You are a most creative and talented person! Do you also make all the clothes for your dolls? Your lilacs are much further along than ours.
ReplyDeleteMy great grandfather worked in San Francisco. His family, including my grandmother, lived across the bay in Oakland. When the 1906 earthquake hit, he couldn't get home for days and they didn't know if he was dead or alive. Later they moved to Glendale, California, where he became head chef at the Glendale Sanitarium, which later became the Glendale Hospital. I have a copy of the cookbook he published in about 1912.
ReplyDeleteGreat selection, I particularly like you car, art, window and circle photos:)
ReplyDeleteWonderful images for your photo hunt.. Your quilts are so pretty and I love the lilacs..The photo of your grandfather is awesome. Great post, enjoy your day!
ReplyDeleteLovely set of photos, like the box covered in maps, and the photo of your grandfather.

Why did I not know before that you are a wonderful quilt maker? The two you show today are fabulous!
ReplyDeleteThe quilt is beautiful....so much detail! I love red work! And what a neat old photo of your Grandfather. I feel like I could walk into the photo and go back in time. Enjoy your day my friend. My embroidery kits finally came yesterday so I'm going to see if I still remember how to embroidery! haha! Sweet hugs, Diane
ReplyDeleteWindow views are always enjoyable, looking in and looking out. All your photos are fun, it was like reading a story in photo chapters!
ReplyDeleteWhat an interesting post. I love the red work quilt. It's really beautiful. And your decoupaged end table is so neat with the faucet handle. Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteLove the Lilac, Movement and Skyline... (anything with blue sky, we've had so little for the last few months!) Your quilts are amazing, what a talent you have.
ReplyDeleteLove circle, window and your beautiful quilt. Lovely story about your grandfather too. x
ReplyDeleteFabulous finds! Especially the circle and car! xx
ReplyDeleteI so enjoyed looking at your pictures and creations that you made. It makes me homesick for my native state of Washington. Sending you wishes from California :)
ReplyDeleteThis is a really nice post - I enjoy all the photos, especially the old-time one!
ReplyDeleteThanks for taking part in this months scavenger hunt, I really like your photos of bathroom, window and something you made. Greenthumb.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful lilacs and quilt and a special treasure in that photo of your grandfather.
ReplyDeleteGreat photos! I'm especially taken with the SF trolley (not all that much older than the ones I rode as a teenager!). That's quite a step up, isn't it? And your bear quilt is darling. I hope we'll see the Washington one you're making, too. The old window shot is very nice.
ReplyDelete(BTW, I did get down on the ground for the newt shot I posted. I couldn't resist getting eye-to-eye. And yes, I can't say I was very graceful getting back up!)
Wow, I'm glad to get caught up. I would have hated to miss these last great posts. I love al your pictures and the quilt is darling.
ReplyDeleteLove the quilts! Your state block really captures the movement of geese against the soft, commanding presence of the mountain. Your applique is so well done that I thought the block was painted fabric! Beautiful combination!
ReplyDeleteAnd I always gravitate to red and white quilts - just something about how bold and sassy they are!
Your spectacular header took my breath away! I think that it is one of the most beautiful I have seen in the blogging world! And your hunt photos were fun to see and read about. You are a talented quilter for sure. My favorite photo has to be that of your grandfather. I am fascinated with old photos, and I can't help wondering about the lives and stories of the people in them. Thank you for sharing it! Happy Easter, JoAnn.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed all your choices, but you touched my heart with the lilacs. They so remind me of Mother's Day as that is about the time they bloomed in Minnesota. My mother and I would wear them as corsages when we went to church - she white for her mother not living. Me, the purple.
ReplyDeleteI can't grow them in Texas as it is too hot for them. I would have many of them if I could. Enjoyed your seeing your hunt.
I love your photos, your quilts are amazing. I especially love the photo of your grandfather as a conductor. Those old photos are very special.
