It is the season for irises and they are everywhere. One particularly wonderful spot is out in the country. The lady grows a small patch of wonderful varieties or irises. You can take the little pencil and paper provided and write down the names of the ones you want to purchase in the fall - leave it in the little box with your name and phone number and she contacts you when they are ready to be dug and sold. Every year we try and get out there in time to see the flowers - and we were not disappointed this year.
Her little plot of irises has a smokehouse in the background and a line of wild mustard behind that - fabulous view
I have trouble deciding which are my favorites.
I think I would have a hard time picking my favorite.
ReplyDeleteI would have to have them all I think! (If I had room of course, which I haven't!)
ReplyDeleteLove to see all the flowers. They give me a pleasant mind!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous! Mine are in bloom now too but I don't have anything like that variety.
ReplyDeletegorgeous photos!! I have never seen so many irises at one time..love the shot of the blue iris in front of the yellow mustard.
ReplyDeleteVery hard to pick a favorite too...but I think the peach-coloured one would be mine!
Stunning flowers - I never knew irises could be so varied!
ReplyDeleteOh! the dark ones for me, that dark purple in particular is wonderful. Great ZIZO
ReplyDeleteI've always had trouble with bearded iris for the same reason: it's impossible to decide. They're all so beautiful! I just caved in to some pretty Dutch iris and planted some this year. I love them, too, and the decision was easier: blue.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I'm always partial to the lavender and purple ones, but they are all lovely.
