A cottage in Birch Bay with stone pillars
One of our favorite stone cottages - a vacation rental on Samish Island
Perfect for relaxing in the sun or shade
Lovely name
A stone cottage in the woods
Fabulous arrangement of the stones
Another house - with just a stone chimney - on Lake Samish (which is not near Samish Island)
Another vacation rental on Samish Island
A stone cottage, a stone fireplace, a stone porch - a hot cup of tea, some cookies and a good book - heaven!
I agree, that's my idea of heaven too. I prefer the green window trim over the yellow. A cottage is my dream house.
ReplyDeleteAdorable little shake roofed cottages, reminds me of the Stone Village in my hometown of Chester, Vermont which is on the National Register of Historic Places.
ReplyDeleteI love a stone house too. I specially love the ones on Samish Island. The first one you showed on Samish Island is MINE!!! haha I wish

Stone houses are so charming. Love the look of the rental on Samish Island. The aqua trim is unique and pretty.
ReplyDeleteThese are so tranquil! I can imagine spending winter inside of them, quilting away beside a roaring fireplace....and summer outside would be even better!
ReplyDeleteBig or small, stonework on houses gives such a feeling of permanence I think. These make me think of fairies.
ReplyDeleteThese are gorgeous! Not surprisingly, most of them look small. I wonder if the one with the shake shingles has had an addition? You don't find many of these in California's earthquake country!
ReplyDeleteA wonderful selection of stone cottages ~ they look so cozy and inviting. Superb workmanship as well. Thanks for sharing them :)
ReplyDeleteGreat examples. When my grandparents had a farm in what is now the suburbs of Los Angeles, They built their own home. They took the horse and wagon over to the Los Angeles River (then free running) and brought back loads of river rock to build their front porch and chimney. I can barely remember it. They moved to northern California when I was four. - Margy
ReplyDeleteThey look so lovely, not something we see in Australia.
ReplyDeleteLove all the stone cottages! Nice place to relax!
ReplyDeleteThe cottages are cute, I love the stonework!
