Getting Ready for the Fair

Last December Julee and I did a craft fair in Big Lake (just outside Sedro Woolley, WA) - we had so much fun and sold our crafts.  We want to do it again this coming December (just about 330 days from now), and I wanted to do something different.  So I decided on American Girl Doll accessories.  I have two dolls, Madame Alexander dolls - similar to AG.  They are the  models for the accessories I am making for the craft fair.

I started with hats.  My next thought is to make larger hats to match the doll hats, for the little girls who own the dolls - we'll see how that works out - but for now- let me present Poppy Sunshine and Abigail Clarissa Wellington-Jones.  You've met them before - HERE - and if  not, please visit, they love company. Now on to our fashion show - ready ladies?

First we have Poppy Sunshine - in a  slouchy beret - in a fashionable purple

Miss Abigail likes the purple, she feels it compliments her blond curls

In the same style - but worn differently, and in soft pink - the slouchy beret can become a lovely toque

Poppy in the same pink hat.

And now for some seasonal accessories.
A jack-o-lantern basket and a pumpkin hat, ready for trick-or-treat

Warm and cozy for October evenings

A pumpkin hat is always the right choice

The ladies will be modeling these and other fashions at the Craft Fair - be sure and drop by if you are in the area - lots of fun and food and local crafts.  Date to be announced soon

  5. Cute ideas. When we moved north from Los Angeles, we had to downsize. My mom had saved lots of my old dolls, including a Madame Alexander. I hated to give them to Goodwill, so I found a doll shop in a nearby town. They restore old dolls and resell them. At least I hoped by doing that they would get to new homes to be appreciated. - Margy

  7. JoAnn, these are lovely. One of the nicest things about making doll's clothes is that they are quick to knit. Also if you knit the same style over and over again then you hardly have to look at the pattern. I am sure you will have a large stock and they will sell like hot cakes.
