A Good and Blustery Day

A good and blustery day - that was yesterday

Rain in the morning

Heavy clouds - and cold

Breakfast at a cafe with our family - celebrating a wondrous birthday

Home again - some mundane chores - enjoying the happiness that is home - and family

Sunshine!

Quick - To the car - To the ocean

Ducks - looking for something to eat

Floating on the waves

Sunlight - Clouds - Rain

It must be fun to be a duck!

Hurray for being a duck!

Splash!

Canada Geese - bobbing on the waves

Waves - seagulls

Wow!

Dark clouds - light clouds

Flapping and hopping into the air when a wave crashes

Landing

A Tern - and a duck

A Tern - and many ducks

Rain is coming!
Vancouver Island, BC in the background

Terns and waves

Graceful in the wind

Terns, riding the waves

A perfect day!

More great shots of our feathery friends. But, oh my goodness, that sky third shot from the end. Very dramatic.

Lovely joyful post JoAnn. It was good seeing the photograph with Vancouver Island in the background as we have just had Margaret from Thousand Flower in the S Juan Islands to stay with us. We went to Vancouver and on to Vancouver Island around ten years ago too.

Why haven't those ducks and geese gone south for the winter yet? Don't they know what time it is?

Beautiful duck photos but those sky shots are AMAZING! Really, they look heavenly - like a burst of angels with trumpets are ready to break through!

Absolutely gorgeous! Love all the details of the waterfowl in the waves. The rays of sun streaming from the clouds always makes me think of angels. xo

Happy birthday to "the oldest." Nice way to spend your day! Those cloudy sky shots are beautiful. We're headed to Vancouver Island next month for the Butchart Garden Christmas lights. Can't wait!

I love the stormy sky pics with Vancouver Is. in the distance...........and yes, being a duck seems like a good life to me! They don't go far from home, yet seem independent, content to bob about on which ever body of water they choose, be it ocean, lake or a little neighborhood pond.

Happy day dear - love seeing your area.
Hugs - Mary

I love it there especially when the winds are blowing and the water is stormy. We live in the best place don't we.

Some of those shots of the sun and clouds over the ocean look more like paintings than photos...just stunning!

What great photos of the waterfowl. We have lots of Canadian geese in our area.

Hi JoAnn, a beautifully, perfect day! Such gorgeous pictures.I have never seen the Canadian Geese in the water. They are plentiful around here now foraging in the pastures. We had quite a downpour here last night and into today. I love hearing it on the roof at night..Happy Tuesday..Judy

Joann, wonderful series of photos. I love the shots of the ocean and the sky. The ducks and gulls are cute bouncing around in the waves. I guess the birds do not mind the weather. Have a happy day!
