We start with roses
My friend Julee came to visit last week. She is from Ketchikan, Alaska, but lives nearby in Sedro Woolley. Her friend Lynn was down visiting from Ketchikan and came along - and brought me this pretty miniature rose.
Just the perfect color to go with my Sears Cattail tea set
This dish set was made in in the early 1940s; the teapot sold for $2.98 and a cup and saucer was fifty cents
Let's have some Fresh Apple Cake with our tea
Green Bakelite handled flatware is perfect for these dishes
Come, sit, enjoy, there is tea and cake for you too
And lovely roses to scent the room
Oh thank you so much you have no idea how much I needed and enjoyed this with you:) Hug B
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely colour the rose is. Apple cake sounds delicious but I'll pass on the tea thanks:) I'm that rare creature - a British who doesn't like tea!
ReplyDeleteLovely dishes, gorgeous roses, and apple cake that made my mouth water! I enjoyed your post thoroughly!
ReplyDeleteoh my now I want apple cake.
ReplyDeleteI think you have the recipe on here somewhere, too....:) The roses and little tea setting are so cute together!

ReplyDeletewhat fun to have the Sears cattails dishes ... and the price way back when! ;) they look lovely with the gorgeous mini-rose. apple cake and tea -- yum! Happy tea day!
ReplyDeleteYour roses match your Cattail China perfectly! I also think Apple Cat sounds wonderful fall and I so glad you shared at FST!
ReplyDeleteThe tea set is very nice, but the roses are a real knockout for me. Love those striking colors! I think those would be a choice for me if I decided to plant roses (and could keep them from the nibbling teeth of the deer).
ReplyDeleteWhat fun to have the Sears Cattail tea set! Your roses match it perfectly. A warm and inviting tea table for friends. Thank you for sharing with us and coming for tea. Blessings, Sandi
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful rose! Loved seeing your Sears Cattail tea set and hearing the price information. The cake looks great too.
ReplyDeleteThe Sears Cattail tea set is unique and perfect for autumn. The roses compliment the china nicely and apple cake sounds yummy for tea today.
ReplyDeleteHello JoAnn,
ReplyDeleteYour tea table is perfectly set for fall, and all in vintage items too! I love how well it all goes together. The roses do look lovely. That is pretty nifty cattail china!

Hello JoAnn
ReplyDeleteI just left a comment on your Fresh Apple Cake post!!!
The miniature rose has perfect Autumn tonings and matches your tea set.
I haven't seen Cattail China before - the painted design looks very art deco!
Nice to meet up for tea today!
Shane
I've never seen this teaset pattern before but I sure like it. It's really unique but perfect for a fall tea. And it sure was cheap back in the 40's too! The roses are such a pretty orange. A lovely tea. Blessings, Pamela
ReplyDeleteI love that tea set Jo Ann, love that quirky vintage stuff. Much nicer than stuffy antiques. And this design with the lovely bull rushes is just perfect now for the autumn.
