I remember the first time I ever saw a hydrangea - I was 18 and had just arrived in Fort Worth, Texas from Alaska - Don and I got married there the next week. His dad was driving us around to help us find an apartment and I saw the biggest, bluest hydrangea. Coming directly from Alaska I had no idea what it was, but I knew I loved it. Since then I've had hydrangeas in my yard, plus I've taken photos of them every chance I got. This summer I made sure to stop and take pictures of any hydrangeas that I saw.
Hydrangeas look great with Purple Cone Flower
All by themselves in a big yard
Or tucked into a garden
This is my favorite mosaic of all
The first I ever saw were in Vancouver, BC. That's the only spot in Canada that they grow, I believe.
ReplyDeleteI love them all but the lime is my all time favourite! Beautiful photos Jo.
ReplyDeleteSuch pretty flowers, mum had them growing in the back garden, they are always in the house at Christmas time.
ReplyDeleteOh they are SO beautiful! And i love these photos, JoAnn. :). My Dad grew a few hydrangeas in our yard in Maine when i was growing up. And they were pretty, but then when we moved to Oregon i fell in love for sure. They are so lush and gorgeous out here! :D
ReplyDeleteSo many lovely blooms!
ReplyDeleteI am a fan of Lynette Jensen who writes quilting books under the Thimbleberries title. She includes home dec ideas too. One of her inspiring suggestions was dried hydrangea stems. They are gorgeous and last a long time!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful mosaic - wow!
