Rurality - Miniature Donkeys

We've seen this farm before, in Skagit County, just south of us.  The first time we saw it, there was a detour using this road from the bridge collapsing into the river on I-5, so we didn't dare stop - huge trucks roaring down the road way over the speed limit, cars and vans and campers following close behind.

The next time we drove past, the detour was over, but there was not a donkey in sight.  Then on vacation we happened down this road again - and there they were, but we were past before I could think to yell out STOP - our very dignified way of communication when I spot something wonderful to get a picture of.  But Don knows me so well, and he pulled into the next farm driveway, turned around, then into another farm driveway on the other side of the road and turned around again so I would be on the side of the road nearest the donkeys - he's sweet that way.

They are so cute - munching the clover in their field

 So many different colors

You didn't really think I was going to show just one photos of these darling miniature donkeys, did you?  I didn't think you did.

  1. Oh, now there are some darling little donkeys! I was going to say I love the little black ones until I saw the spotted one! I've never seen a spotted donkey! They are so precious. I'm sure they aren't nearly as sweet as they look, though! he he. If they are anything like shetland ponies, then I know they are very naughty when they want to be! Too bad about all the traffic they had to endure. Glad that is over with for all of you living up there! (Hopefully) xoxo
