One photo on Tuesday - it had to be this one. A Heron standing on a piling in Bellingham Bay. He was there for over an hour - I kept coming back and taking more photos. It was hard to narrow down my choices, as I took well over 400 pictures of him - but he just kept posing so nicely.
Ok - maybe two - you knew I couldn't stop at one.
He was such a pretty bird.
.
Excellent photos of this magnificent bird! How nice that he posed for so long.
ReplyDeleteI wish I could pet him. He is one serious looking bird.

Girl, you and that camera are something else. Loved the heron shots. Just so NEAT.
ReplyDeleteXO,
Sheila
He is a handsome fellow!! Boom & Gary of the Vermilon River, Canada.
ReplyDeleteThey're such patient and stately birds, aren't they? I just read a piece of trivia about the GBH and will share it this weekend on my bird photo blog [link is on my right hand sidebar]. Great images.
ReplyDeleteWonderful shots! One of my favorite birds!
ReplyDeleteLovely pictures of the heron!
ReplyDeleteWe have them here in Sweden as well.
Greetings Pia
Excellent photos!
ReplyDeleteGreat photos!
ReplyDeleteVery good photowork!
Stunning shots! How nice - and convenient - that he was so still for you!
ReplyDeleteWonderful images...
ReplyDeleteAn iconic species. Super shots.
ReplyDeleteI love the herons, pretty shots!
ReplyDeleteGreat photos - I would have taken a lot also with the bird perfectly posed like that.
ReplyDeleteFantastic shot of the Heron. I've never gotten that close to one.
ReplyDeleteGlad you shared both. I guess I went a little overboard with mine this week.
He is quite a handsome dude. Posing like that!!
ReplyDeleteWho COULD post only one?? :D He is breathtaking, and you've taken brilliant, gorgeous photos of him. Love love love!
ReplyDeleteHe's a handsome bird for sure.
ReplyDeleteThe clouds make for a perfect background! Gorgeous bird.
ReplyDeleteHe looks a right grumpy bugger . ... nice portrait though
ReplyDeleteThere is no such thing as an overdose of heron photos! I know that feeling-- when I have 20 shots that are essentially identical, why is it so hard to pick one, and worse, throw the rest away to save disc space?
ReplyDeleteJoAnn: Talk about your bird pictures. What a majestic thing of beauty. Great photos..Happy Wednesday..Judy
ReplyDeleteAmazing shot, JoAnn! He really is a beauty! I love how you have captured the details of his long feathers and his serious expression! xx
ReplyDeleteGreat captures, very nice!
