One of our more plentiful migrating ducks are the Pintails. They come in huge flocks and stay all winter.
They fill the bays and lakes - and even the seasonal ponds on farm fields, formed by the heavy rains in our area.
A motorcycle roared by and frightened them into flight.
Settling down again.
They are such pretty ducks - and have a lovely whistley call that can be heard from quite a ways off.
Walking about in the pond formed on an old corn field.
Searching for something good to eat.

Ducks galore!
They are beautiful...lucky you, to have that many.
We too get pintails ... maybe the most plentiful migrant. Other winter visitors may be green-winged Teal, Baikal Teal, Falcated Teal, various Pochards, Ring-necked Duck, Tufted Duck, Greater Scaup, and a few times a Smew. Maybe Black-Winged Stilt, Common Snipe, and a number of common transients. The scouts need to identify "animals" in the wild, and in Tokyo the best possibility is visiting a pond or the shore during the winter for a bit of birding.
Such pretty ducks. I don't think we get pintails, which is odd considering how close we are. Or perhaps I'm not looking in the right places!
