Bird Visitors

I looked up this morning and there were two flickers on the birdbath and feeders -  they are here frequently, but not often long enough to get photos.
And hummingbirds visiting the fuchsias

Holding on to the flower with tiny feet.  I had never noticed that before.

Oh, how exquisite your photos of the Hummingbird are! I must say your Fuchsias look like dainty ballerinas dancing to the song of the Hummingbird. I have never seen or heard of a Flicker bird before.

Great photos of the flicker and hummingbirds, JoAnn. I took a photo this summer of a bee in a flower and noticed that it held on with its feet, too. So interesting what one can see after loading the photos onto a computer. Did it rain in your area today? It drizzled off and on here and it's been lovely.

I really miss hummingbirds here, every time I walk past some of the plants I know they would love. I think the west coast has more varieties than what we had in Ohio.

I never get tired of looking at hummingbird photos - I am mesmerized by the slender little bodies, and the wings that are blurred from the speed. Thanks for sharing this terrific series with us - memo to me to get some fuchsia!

I do love the little hummers. We have them here quite often and with so many flowers around they tell me they are happy. Very pretty Fuchsia too. Bob loves the Flickers---they are so pretty

I'm finally back to blogging. I took a longer break than I planned & it was hard to get back in the saddle again! I love your hummingbird shots. I think I could watch them for hours if they stuck around long enough. And I hadn't realized that a flicker's head had so many colors. Lovely!
I can't believe summer's over but the rain's back and that's a sure sign. I'm glad you spent some of your vacation in our region and so happy we had a chance to meet! It was a real treat!
