Most of today's barns are worn and weary
Old, patched and rusted
Mossy and shabby
Tall and leggy in a hay field.
Lots of room for hay storage when it was in use.
But some are still well maintained and useful for storing the large, round hay bales. The crows have found something interesting in the field.
Weathering boards, but the roof is bright and new.
I think a barn looks best when it is a bit weathered. If they are too shiny and new, they just don't look right. Nice photos!
ReplyDeleteI love these...specially the tall, leggy one and that last one.
ReplyDeleteAn interesting collection of barns!
ReplyDeleteThe second one is my favorite
...Hi JoAnn, you sure found some weathered beauties this time. Tall and leggy in a hay field is an interesting one, I never seem this style before. Thanks for sharing, I hope that there are a few more out there to share!
ReplyDeleteHello, wonderful series of barns. I like the last weathered barn with the new roof. Great shots. Happy Monday, enjoy your day and the new week ahead!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos in your posts, especially the hummingbirds ones!Hugs.
ReplyDeleteJust between you and me, JoAnn, I love old and worn and weathered barns the best. I love they have been probably standing forever growing old gracefully.
ReplyDeleteJoAnn, you always find the best barns. . . . . . . I need to get out in the NC countryside this summer and see what I can find hiding in those rolling fields.
ReplyDeleteHave a fabulous week - Mary
Great collection of different barns. I'm sure I've said this before in a comment but I love barns.
ReplyDeleteThose oldies remind me of a comfortable pair of well worn boots.
