Happy New Year - Happy Holidays

With all the hustle and bustle - and the relaxing times - and friends and family - I didn't get much done on the blogging scene during December - so let's step back a few weeks and see what was going on.

Christmas Eve - fun and food and family
Don is in charge of Christmas Eve - he picks the menu and prepares the food (well, except for the baking I do beforehand).  We have had this Noel tray since the late 60s, we got it in N. California, when we lived in Orangevale.  It is perfect for crackers.
We use the vintage Lefton Holly dishes - some we got in California - some we have picked up here and there when we find them at yard sales and thrift shops.

These vintage holly dishes are family treasures for sure - and perfect for the holidays.
Gingerbread pigs - with pink frosting on their backs - plus lots of other cookies and treats

And the christmas tree - with gifts - just waiting for Christmas morning.

Look at all of the pretty cookies! I know you kept the house warm with the oven going. I love the gingerbread men best. Lots of yummy snacks too! I would have made a pig of myself! haha! Happy New year sweet friend. Here's to another year of fun! Hugs, Diane

It all looks wonderful and welcoming. A beautiful array of plates and trays. And you certainly baked up a lot of very yummy looking cookies. And, of course, a gorgeous looking tree!

With all those goodies, there is no place for the gang of eaters! Even without the cookies and desserts, my table was so full the turkey had to go on the ironing board and the desserts on the dog kennel. Love those pretty seasonal dishes.

My JoAnn, you sure put out a spread, I gained a few pounds just looking at all that food! You seem to have collections of collections, such lovely things. Thanks for starting the New Year at Tuesday's Treasures, I hope to see you back soon.

The vintage Lefton Holly dishes truly are family treasures. Looks like you have made use of everyone of them. Between the cookies and all of those delicious looking meats and cheeses I suddenly find myself hungry for those goodies. I just love those thumbprints, tea cakes, tarts and gingerbread cookies. It would be so pleasant to sit down with you and enjoy a cup of tea and sample each and every one of those cookies.... Hugs, Candy

PS: Love the tree too!

Wow! What a magical place for the family to gather for that special night! And you've given me an idea - put grandpa in charge of one of the events! He would probably love to think of a menu and feel important as a host for a change. Usually he just cleans the bathrooms and vacuums!
