Christmas list ideas!
A perfect book for the whole family - my book is the real life adventures that my brothers and I had when our family moved to Alaska in the 1950s. Bears, whales, boats - and homemade ice cream in the winter because that was the only time we had ice - the nearby waterfall froze and we chipped the ice to make old-fashioned ice cream in our hand cranked ice cream maker.
Happy fans of the book
And time to think of gifts for the holidays - "Are We Walking to Alaska?" would appeal to aunts, uncles, cousins, youngsters, moms, dads, grandparents. Grandparents especially might love the book because they will remember many of the things mentioned as being from their childhoods. And there is lots of Alaska history from that time period too, before Alaska was a state.

Hey JoAnn, what a great way to let people know about your book - I know anyone who receives one as a gift (or perhaps purchases one for themselves!!!) will be in for a great read of your life in Alaska as a child.
Good luck with Christmas sales - speaking of which, I'd like to buy your book as a Christmas present to myself so I'll e-mail you soon!
Hugs - Mary
This book was gifted to me a few years ago and I loved it! I thought of myself as I read, living a fairly "normal" life here in the midwest while you were experiencing an entirely different situation in Alaska. There were many parts of your lifestyle I envied, and others where I felt safer to be where I was. I initially intended to donate the book to the library after I finished it, but decided to save it for my grandchildren. There's just too much history, geography, and simple family living here to deny them the same experience I had! GREAT BOOK! Highly recommend!
Hello, wonderful post about your book. I think it is awesome and sounds like a great read. Have a happy day!
I hope you get lots of orders, JoAnn. I enjoyed reading your book so much. It has something for everyone to enjoy..Happy Wednesday..Judy
I agree, books make wonderful Christmas presents. For all your readers, I really enjoyed your memoir and what life off the grid was like in Alaska in your youth. - Margy
I love your bears. They are perfect sales--bears? Too cute.
It must be very satisfying to have written and published a book!
