Dogwood

This was a fabulous year for Dogwood.  These photos are from last month - all the Dogwood trees have finished blooming and melted back into the green that is Washington.
This Dogwood tree is in our neighborhood and was almost completely covered with flowers.
Most of the Dogwoods this year were just as thickly covered in blossoms.

I have read about dogwood JoAnn but I think this is the first time I have actually seen a photograph of it. Isn't it beautiful?

Those are Kousa dogwoods correct JoAnn? Our southern dogwoods bloom much earlier in Spring at the same time as azaleas, they are lovely but I think your trees are even prettier with heavier blooms. These are gorgeous.

Such a sad day - so many suffering from the tragedy in Nice last night. What has the world become?

Enjoy your weekend - we are roasting with temps. around 100F!

Very pretty. We had a long spring here this year, and the dogwoods also looked quite pretty.

Beautiful! We have one dogwood tree that blooms in early spring. It's my personal sign that winter is OVER!

I've never seen them with so many blooms. You know what they say, when the dogwoods are in bloom the fish will be biting. - Margy

Beautiful dogwood photos, JoAnn. They were very pretty this year, but I don't think I took any photos of them. Do you have them in your garden?

American dogwoods are popular garden trees here but they bloom before the leaves come out and don't last long.
I like the Japanese ones like this that bloom later with the leaves on and last a long time. They could be garden trees but grow wild in the hills so fun to come across on a hike or in a campsite.
