It has been raining a LOT here - water is pouring down the mountainsides where there was none before
The wind blows - sometimes over 50 mph
The over-wintering Trumpeter Swans swim in the seasonal ponds that form in the farmers' fields
So we stay indoors and have tea and bake and use our pretty dishes
While waiting for a sunny day
And we prepare for christmas - while listening to the wind and rain and holiday songs

Hello, baking on a rainy day sounds good to me. I love your heron mosaic. Pretty dishes and lovely Chrismtas decorations. Happy Monday, enjoy your new week!

ReplyDeleteHi JoAnn!
That's what I call raining. It is good that you were able to keep yourself busy and make things joyful despite the weather. A nice cup of tea (or coffee) with a slice of cake always works wonders.
Have a lovely week!
Arlette
I wish I could smell that freshly baked bread, it looks delicious.
ReplyDeleteYour home is such a cozy place to be! Love your dishes - especially that blue heart shaped one!
ReplyDeleteIt rained all day here today - a good excuse to stay in and start cookies for my annual Grandma's Cookie Baking Party this Friday night.
Your new header is so Christmas-y!!
Enjoy your Christmas preparations! xx
ReplyDeleteOh the rain you have been getting there! Just terrible. I'm glad you are enjoying being cozy in your home with baking and such. We are in a storm here tonight with ice pellets and freeing rain so I'm praying the power won't be off! It's cold outside. Take care and enjoy the week ahead.
ReplyDeleteI hope that rain will keep the fires down in the summer. Yes, a good time to stay inside if you are not a swan or heron.
ReplyDeleteI hope your weather improves this week. I know you've had more than enough rain and could use some sun! Love the last mosaic of pretty Christmas things. Lots of hugs, Diane PS See you on Wednesday for some dollie fun!
ReplyDeleteYou captured this month perfectly! (Only difference here is that I've been playing with paper, glue, and scissors instead of cooking...just as well!)
ReplyDeleteI hope the weather improves for you. Not long now till the solstice, my sister's birthday, and the days begin to lengthen. Have a lovely Christmas! xx
ReplyDeleteGorgeous mosaics...we should have more rain and cold but it is strange weather now.

Love the swan photo; of course, I am enchanted by swans probably because we don't have them here. We have snow this morning, lots of it and more coming down. It may be a snow day for the schools kids. Yes, a good day to stay home and stay in to get the last of the Christmas preps done. Coming to you from Mosaic Monday. Have a wonderful week and stay dry.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful wintry shots and your tea post after this one is delightful.
